Who runs this directory

New Braunfels Friends is operated by Tiberius AI and associated with the New Braunfels News Facebook page. Alfred is a separate, optional Tiberius AI service.

Your account and public listing

We store your sign-in identifier, business details, contact name, required email address, optional private mobile number, preferences, information requests, billing references, and activity counts. Your contact name, owner email, private mobile number, payment references, and consent records are not published. Your business description, category, area, uploaded listing photo, and any public phone, website, address, hours, or active Premium offer you provide appear when you publish your listing. Photos are resized for display. A photo attached to a private listing is visible only to its signed-in owner.

Opa, our virtual local guide

Opa is a fictional cartoon character. In directory-guide mode, questions are matched to the public listings in your browser. When AI chat is enabled, your message, recent conversation, and relevant public directory details are sent to OpenAI to prepare a reply. We do not attach private owner emails, mobile numbers, consent records, or billing details. Please keep sensitive information out of chat. Conversations stay in page memory and clear when you refresh or leave; we do not save chat transcripts in the directory database. OpenAI processes requests under its own data policies.

Opa uses text chat. He does not play audio or record your microphone. When AI chat is enabled, temporary hashed request identifiers and counters help limit abuse; those counters expire within two days. Opa may make mistakes. Check hours, offers, prices, and availability directly with each business.

Email and SMS choices

Your required email is used for account administration, billing, and responding to your requests. Promotional email and text messages require separate optional opt-ins. Both are unchecked for new accounts. Entering an email or phone number, buying Premium, or requesting Alfred information does not automatically subscribe you to recurring marketing.

We record your choices, contact destination, disclosure wording and version, source form, and time of consent or withdrawal. If you change your email or mobile number, that change is also recorded. You can decline both channels or withdraw consent through My business → My listing, photo & offers. Once messages are enabled, emails will include an unsubscribe method, and texts will support STOP and HELP.

Private mobile numbers and SMS opt-in data are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing. Contact information may be processed by service providers necessary to run the directory and deliver messages on our behalf. The named sender is Tiberius AI, operator of New Braunfels Friends. When you choose email offers, we share your email address, contact name, and email subscription choice with Resend to manage the New Braunfels Friends contact list and offer topic. Withdrawing that choice removes you from this marketing group. Existing Resend unsubscribes are respected. This connection collects contacts; it does not automatically send an email. SMS sending is not connected. See Resend’s privacy policy.

Stripe payments

Stripe processes Premium payments, subscriptions, receipts, and billing management. We send Stripe your business name and contact email and store customer, subscription, and checkout identifiers and billing status. Card details are entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout and are not stored by this directory. Marketing preferences remain separate from payment authorization. Customer inquiries

An inquiry stores the sender’s name, email, message, submission time, and status for the listing’s account holder. Inquiries are delivered to the directory inbox; automatic email notifications are not connected yet. Do not include payment details or sensitive information in an inquiry.

Activity and saved places

We count profile visits and website and phone link clicks. Counts are approximate and do not prove a call or sale occurred. Saved businesses use browser local storage on that device. Session storage helps avoid duplicate visit counting. ChatGPT Sites provides hosting. Business owners sign in with an email verification code delivered through Resend. Codes expire after 10 minutes and work once; we store hashes of codes and session tokens. Essential, secure cookies keep you signed in for up to 30 days. Temporary hashed request counters help limit sign-in abuse. Sign-in emails do not subscribe you to marketing. The directory manager can also use an existing ChatGPT sign-in.

Directory details and sponsorship

Community listings are compiled from linked public websites and marked unclaimed. Owner-submitted details are the account holder’s responsibility. Paid Premium placement is labeled sponsored. Confirm hours, licensing, prices, and availability directly with each business.

Your choices and questions

Edit or hide your listing and change contact preferences in your dashboard. Hiding a listing does not cancel a subscription; use Manage billing for that. For correction, deletion, or support requests, contact New Braunfels News on Facebook. We retain account, billing, and consent records as needed to operate the service, honor withdrawals, and resolve requests. External business websites, Facebook, Stripe, and Tiberius AI have their own privacy practices.
